Altar Guild: A group of people from the community who get together twice a week, Monday & Friday, to dust, vacuum, and find lost items.  All are welcome to share in fellowship and companionship as we strive to show that “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.”

 

 

Altar Servers: Young people grade 4 and up who wish to assist the Presider at liturgies.

 

 

Art & Environment Ministry: People willing to decorate the church for the liturgical seasons.

 

Bereavement Ministry: Community members willing to give immediate help to those who have just lost a loved one.  Others would help plan liturgies with the families or the third step to follow up later with a phone call or card. Special training is given for this ministry

 

 Council of Catholic Women: Mission Statement: support, empower and educate all Catholic Women in spirituality, leadership and service.  Support Genesis House, Sharing Center, Women in third world countries and our own parish.  Come & Join us.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: Catholics in good standing who wish to serve the Lord by distributing the Body and Blood to the community of Our Lady of Lourdes at liturgies.  They must be recommended by the Pastor, attend a Diocesan workshop, be commissioned by the Orlando Diocese and be trained as to our procedures.

Hospitality Ministry: People who serve the community as greeters and ushers. They are available to help you if you need assistance and give you a hug and a smile as you enter the Church of God. 

Life Teen Our Lady of Lourdes offers a “Life Teen” program for our 9-12 grade students.  “Leading Teens Closer to Christ”  — Life Teen offers fellowship, fun and food.  We participate in service projects, do fundraisers, go on field trips, and retreats.  Our youth program encourages total personal and spiritual growth for all participating.

 

Marist Third Order: The 3rd Order will help to make its’ members Christ centered lay people wholly devoted to Our Lord.  It takes them “through Mary to Jesus.”  It gives them as their ideal the most Christ-Centered of Christians-Mary. She is their pattern to imitate in their thinking, judging and acting.  The Third Order of Mary gives stability, a steadiness of purpose in one's life in union with Christ. All men and women invited.

Ministry of Care: A group of devoted people who make pastoral visits and bring Holy Communion to those who are unable to attend Mass due to an unexpected stay at HRMC, residence in one of twelve nursing homes or assisted living facilities or due to circumstances beyond their control, find themselves homebound.

 

 

MOMS (Ministry of Mothers Sharing): We gather mothers together to form a network of mutual support in a chaotic society. To provide group experience of learning, praying and ministering to each other. To introduce mothers to opportunities for person al  and spiritual growth.  

 

Music Ministry: There are a variety of ways to participate in this ministry.  If you are interested in singing in an English or Spanish Choir, if you play a musical instrument or are interested in Cantor training, we would love to have you participate.  Call the Parish office for rehearsal times or more information.  

 

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School:  Our Parish School provides a community of love and learning for children PreK-3 thru 8th grade.  Accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference, we are committed to a challenging, holistic and developmentally appropriate education program.  We are truly “Something special in the heart of Melbourne.”

 

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults): A team of men and women that help give support to children (from the age of reason to adults as they come into full communion with the Catholic Church.  This process of conversion is opened to open anyone seeking more information about the church.  For additional information about RCIA as a sponsor or as a catechumen call the Parish Office.

 

Readers: Members of our community who wish to proclaim the word of the Lord to our assembly at liturgies.  Training is available.

 

Religious Education: The Religious Education Department is responsible for programs that educate children as well as adults.  This includes: Sacramental Preparation, a weekly Pre-K through High School Religious Education program and several different scripture/catholic faith study groups. Anyone interested in teaching, being an aide in a classroom or joining one of our Religious Education classes,  contact  Carolyn Ziarno at the church office.

 

Sacristans: Members of our Community who prepare the altar for daily and weekly Mass.  They also clean and put away all liturgical vessels after the Mass.

 

Spanish Community: All Ministries are also available in Spanish.
