Music Ministry

Among the many signs and symbols used by the Church to celebrate its faith, music is of preeminent importance.   As sacred song united to the words it forms an integral part of solemn liturgy.”¹

The Music Ministry Team of Our Lady of Lourdes believes that the gift of music is so powerful that it cannot be kept to one’s self.  It is our belief that when God bestows talent and ability to an individual, that person should be moved to give it back to God.  Therefore, we rehearse as choirs one day a week and lead our congregation in liturgies one day a week, to give back to God what has been given to us.

Our Cantors are especially called to minister at weddings, funerals and at special liturgies.  It is at these times of need that it is good to be able to turn to a parish family member for assistance.
