Our Lady of
Lourdes Council of Catholic Women, as an affiliated member of the National
Council of Catholic Women and the
Orlando Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, Southern Deanery,
is committed to the support, empowerment and education of all Catholic
women. OLL CCW recognizes the gifts that women bring to the church,
community and family through spirituality, service and leadership.
The CCW is either wholly or partially responsible for many additions to
the community life in the church.
The
Council holds monthly meetings between September and May on the Wednesday
following the first Sunday of the month. The meetings are usually
followed with a luncheon and are held in the Ministries Building.
The Council also sponsors special events throughout the year.
The annual membership dues, payable May 1st, are $10.00. All
women of the parish are encouraged to become CCW members. The
Council invites and needs members who are committed to putting God’s
words into action through involvement and participation.
The
following is from the National Council of Catholic Women Handbook:
Why Belong?
Membership
in a Catholic woman’s organization demands a deeper commitment of one’s
gifts. The gift of faith requires
a gift in return. The answer to
the question “Why belong?” can be easily remembered, if we associate it
with the letters in the word ‘belong.’
