Elizabeth Ministry

Elizabeth Ministry Brochure.pdf

By following the example set by Mary and Elizabeth, women are brought together to share experiences and respond to each other’s needs during and after the childbearing years.

Elizabeth Ministry, an extension of the M.O.M.S. Ministry, is an outreach during special times of motherhood.  This ministry includes pregnancy and pregnancy complications, infant and child crisis, special needs, infertility concerns, miscarriage, infant and child death, failed adoption and grandparenting issues.

ASSISTANCE

Our ministers are ready to assist women in the following ways:

·         Meals: If you have a new baby or are experiencing a difficult time, MOMs and Elizabeth Ministry can setup a meal delivery schedule based on your needs through www.foodtidings.com

·         Prayer Partners: Please forward prayer requests for families to us. They will be matched to an Elizabeth Minister who has experienced a similar situation.

·         Visiting Ministers/Support: Elizabeth Ministers will visit the homes of those celebrating or in need; or lend an ear via email or phone.

·         Parish Recognition: Please forward birth/baptismal/celebration announcements to us with a picture for inclusion in pre-mass slide show and bulletin.

·         Baptismal/New Baby Gift Bags: Some goodies to welcome your child to the Church and help introduce them to a life of Christ.

BECOMING A MINISTER

WHO is an Elizabeth Minister?

Anyone with a warm heart and a willingness to share your personal experience.

HOW does it work?

Volunteers become a Visiting Elizabeth Minister in the areas they have experienced. For example, a woman who has twins would visit and mentor a woman who is pregnant with twins. This support may come in the form of visits, phone calls, cards, prayer, meals, resources and other assistance.  A Non-Visiting Elizabeth Minister would be someone who made crafts, organized supplies, or prayed for women in need.

TIME it takes?

Elizabeth Ministry is set up for flexibility and short term commitments, where family comes first!  After an initial orientation meeting, there are no further required meetings.  Any future group gatherings are set up and held for anyone who is interested in attending. As a visiting minister, a commitment may be once a month visit or contact with a woman over a 6 month period.    For non-visiting ministers, supportive and flexible ministry is available as your schedule permits.
